Enzymix contains a versatile mix of digestive enzymes, including lipase, protease, amylase and lactase. These enzymes support the breakdown of fats, proteins, carbohydrates and lactose. The capsules are easy to open and therefore also suitable for children from 2 years of age. Enzymix capsules come in a bio-based jar made from 100% recyclable plastic.

Digestive enzymes are proteins produced by the body to break down food into smaller building blocks that can be absorbed. The pancreas produces most of these enzymes, which are active in the small intestine. Each enzyme has a specific task and together they support the normal digestive process.

Various factors, such as age, diet, lifestyle or stress, can influence how active this digestive process is. The composition and quantity of a meal also play a role in this.

Enzymix is composed of nine different digestive enzymes that complement each other in their action. This broad combination has been developed to support the normal digestive process in the breakdown of different types of nutrients.

The enzymes are of non-animal origin and resistant to stomach acid, allowing them to remain active in both the stomach and the small intestine.

These enzymes support the digestion of fats, proteins, sugars, carbohydrates (including FODMAPs) and plant fibres:

• Amylase, maltase and glucoamylase help digest starch. Starch is found in grains, potatoes and rice, among other things.

• Invertase helps digest sucrose (also known as table sugar). Sucrose is found in fruit and sweet products.

• Alpha-galactosidase helps digest complex carbohydrates such as fructans and galactans and reduces the risk of gas formation.*1 Fructans and galactans are found in legumes, grains and vegetables, among other foods.

Proteins are important nutrients found in meat, fish, eggs, legumes and nuts, among other foods. Enzymix contains the digestive enzyme protease, which aids in the digestion of proteins.

Fats are a source of energy and essential fatty acids. They are found in foods such as oil, butter, cheese, meat and nuts. Enzymix contains the enzyme lipase, which aids in the digestion of fats.

Enzymix contains cellulase, an enzyme that helps break down fibres from plant-based foods.
