Three café-style drinks with lactose-free milk
Make a warm drink at home using milk that suits you. A lactose-free label addresses the milk sugar, not a milk-protein allergy.
Serves or makes: 1 drink per variation
Ingredients
- For a flat white: 30 mL espresso and 150 mL lactose-free milk
- For an iced coffee: 30 mL cooled espresso, 150 mL lactose-free milk and ice
- For a warm vanilla milk: 200 mL lactose-free milk and a quarter teaspoon vanilla
Method
- For the flat white, warm and froth the milk, then pour over the espresso.
- For iced coffee, combine the cooled coffee and milk in a glass with ice.
- For vanilla milk, warm the milk gently with vanilla without boiling.
- Adjust caffeine to your circumstances. If using lactase drops to prepare regular milk, follow the exact Australian pack directions and treatment time; do not assume an instant result.
